Picking a motorcycle boot really depends on you, but here are some tips to get you started:

1) The highest priced boots may not be the right ones for you. Do the research and select the pair that is right for you and your budget. (Find the technical details of the boots and compare them with other manufacturers in your price range).

2) The boots you should look for will allow you to make natural movements with your feet, but will prevent unnatural movements (as much as possible), thus preventing injury in a crash.

3) Look for good toe, ankle & heel protection (if you go down, these are the areas that'll hit the pavement hardest).

4) Are the boots made of a good material (such as leather or other manmade material that will not wear through when you really need it.

5) Make sure they're comfortable. If they're not, then you'll likely not wear them.

6) No matter how much gear you wear, your brain is your best defense against a crash. Always try to forsee events and ride in a way that does not put your life or other peoples lives in danger. Basically ride responsibly.

I've worn only two brands of boots in my life, Gaerne and Alpinstars. They are good brands, but you'll have to research and try on some in order to decide.

The 250 Ninja is a great bike. You'll love it.

Stay safe! :)

any of the street boots provide good protection. I use Alpine Stars GP, but I think they are a bit dated.

I have a pal who swears by his red wing(tm) lace up steel toe work boots.

Anything with leather above the ankle, is better than nothing.

Great bike the 250

Since your picking them to go with the bike, perhaps they should be color-matched.

Otherwise, find something that fits well, and goes over the ankle. Your choices range from $25 woork boots from Wal-Mart to top-of-the-line racing gear.

Personally, I've always worn my leather work boots.

spend money on the boots you'll want for your next bike. The ninja is like your first steady lay. You'll be looking for something else soon, but you'll still love her.

Anything that covers the ankle. Loose laces can get in the works...then again I've road a zillion miles with lace up shoes with no problem. Just go for what looks cool.
