I've done both tent, and truck & camper camping. The tent camping was fun for the most part, except that I had a bad air matress that would go flat during the night and I'd wake up with a very painful back. Then we got the truck camper and went to the Oregon beaches. We had just parked in a space and got into the camper when a pounding rain started. The couple next to us was trying their best to pitch that tent fast, and were just getting soaking wet, while we sat in the comfort of our camper feeling sorry for them. We have never regretted getting the camper since. And no it's not cheating, it just makes camping a lot easier to do.

We are definitely tent campers. It's kind of sad but for our little family of 4 we have a 4 room tent. Living room, dining room and two bedrooms (haha) We cook over a propane stove and have no electronic equipment when we go. We love it. I don't consider trailer camping 'cheating', I consider it two different things altogether.
In the last 3 years, though, since we bought our boat, we don't tent camp, we boat camp. We're going to Lake Powell next week and will be living on our 21' cuddy cabin for a week. You wanna be me. ;0)

Camp in a tent is classic, camping in a trailer is classy.
Neither are cheating.

I've always camped in a tent. I consider trailer camping to be camping in luxury.

i camp in a tent but i dont think that camping in a trailer would be cheating because i mean if your still kinda outside...

Tent camping..... We do lots of it in summer... weekend trips to a few weeks... love it.
Trailer is cheating..

i dont like to camp. i like hotels.
but to answer your question...i camped in tents. i dont think trailer camping is cheating.

maybe it is because i am an eagle scout, and camping was my favorite merit badge, and this all makes me sound like a huge nerd, but going out, pitching your tent, building a fire, cooking in a dutch oven, and just being with your friend...you can't beat it
sleep it a tent, it's more fun!
