All they are doing is trying to appease people to get votes. To me affirmative action has caused more racial tension than it has tried to help ease. The problem is everyone wants a level playing field and there will never be one for people to get a realistic chance from. Best we can do is try to make it as close to equal as possible for everyone and let things take their course.

And how can you understand their motives?
I'm an old white guy, and my best friend at work is a black guy the same age as my son.
My primary cause is now Gay Rights since I became very close to a young Lesbian girl.
The Bible saying about judging others comes to mind.
