Ozone is another name for a form of oxygen. You breathe O2 and Ozone is O3. It exists in the upper layers of the atmosphere and aborbs harmful UV radiation from the Sun by breaking down from O3 to O2 when this radiation hits it. The ozone layer is in danger because a popular propellant for aerosols in the 80's and 90's called Chloroflourocarbons (CFC's) react with the O3 in the ozone layer making it unable to do it's job. So much CFC's were used before they were outlawed that a large area of the ozone layer over Antarctica is no longer there.
Of course as more solar radiation can get in through this hole without hinderance it can alter the stability of the earth's climate and expose life to more harmful radiation.

Ozone is a gas made of 3 molecules of oxygen rather than the 2 that we require to breathe. The ozone layer is a layer in the outer atmosphere that happens to protect us from uv rays emitted from the sun, and is also destroyed by CFCs (chloro-flouro carbons), most of which are banned now.

the o-zone is a layer around the earth that protects us from the uv rays that give us skin cancer. it is in danger because gases and other chemicals are burning holes through it and making us at risk of cancer. this is why people wear sunscreen. its like our own ozone layer

Liberals can't comprehend the version between having an opinion and having the desire to tension your opinion on others. that's what makes them risky. I repeat that's what makes them risky.
