A certain amount of isolation is good, for clearing your head, reflection, and general well being. However, I personally feel that isolation, i.e., prolonged, reclusive behavior is not the best thing for personal growth. Isolation basically refuses relationships with other people or things, and clinically can be the sign of severe depression. It would be hard to imagine that isolation itself literally kills a person, but depression certainly can cause a person to withdraw and take their life. I think it can be related. According to www.wrongdiagnosis.com, there are quite a few reasons for isolation.

Emotional illness
Panic disorder
Agoraphobia
Alcoholism
Bipolar
Depression
Depressive disorders
Dysthmia
Anti-Social Personality Disorder
Avoidant Personality Disorder
Paranoia
Eating Disorders
Anorexia
Bulimia
Drug Abuse
Fatique (Chronic)
Encephalitis
Incontinence
Cystiis
Fecal incontinence

(to name a few)

Again, there is no way isolation will cause death directly, but certainly it is not the healthiest thing to do.

Some people do it by choice like monks and it gave them tranquility and peacefulness. But some are forced to be isolated like prisoners and it put them into extreme loneliness. Consequently, they suffer from depression resulting sometimes to death.

And like the one above me (dest tempest), isolation if by choice gives real joy to a person. Sad to say, the reality nowadays is that being alone is equated to loneliness. And that is very damaging! But NOT enough to kill an alone yet happy person.

Certainly, I prefer to be alone, but this is for a reason. THAT I HATE PEOPLE AS THEY ARE DEALING WITH ME VERY BAD AND IT IS NOT MY FAULT BUT IT IS THE POPELE'S FAULT AS I AM NOT WELL UNDERSTOOD AND AT THE SAME TIME THEY ARE NOT GIVING ME THE CHANCE TO CLEAR MY CHARACTER FROM PURITIES. ON THE OTHER HAND, THE HOPPIES I PREFER TO DO SO ALLOW ME TO BE ALONE Such playing music, riding horses, designing computer programs, love to study and science, and alot of things. I really wish to aid the people and deal with them closely and respectively

No. Some people actually prefer it. You don't know them or hear about them because they are isolated.
