In southwest virginia where I live......you better be on your death bead. My wife just had to go sit on jury duty and lemme tell ya, the only people they excused was a woman that according to my wife was in her mid 80s and on Oxygen, and another woman responsible for the care of her dying father. But I'm not completely sure about the last one.
Truth be told It's all up to the judge. His/her mood, his/her political views, stuff like that. Doctor's excuses are a good start. Other than that I wouldn't know where to tell you to begin.

i told the judge i worked graveyard and had children at home with no babysitter, my kids were 16 and 14 but i didn't figure he needed to know their ages, anywho...no jury duty for me:)

they will ask you a few questions....tell them you hate the justice system, tell them you have family that have been convicted of a crime and you think they were treated unfairly.
