I thought when Nancy Pelosi went to Syria wearing her burqua to grovel at the feet of Assad the terrorist that she would have negotiated a better deal for the US on mid east oil.

This is just so typical; lie, criticize others and act like dictators once elected. It is time we are all aware of these schemes every time they speak particularly when they are making campaign speeches.
Even this early in the game the politicians are changing their convictions on a daily basis. How can we possibly take them seriously?
We voted for them, we pay their salaries, their jetting around the world, their lifetime retirement but here they are giving us the shaft while they worry about illegal immigrants, their welfare, their extended families who will cost us trillions in benefits and does anyone really believe they will secure the borders, that they will keep track of these people so they return to Mexico for a year and then return to what? pick up the jobs they left for another two years.
To date we have not been able to keep track of them and be assured the only thing this will accomplish is another hugh government agency that does nothing constructive.
Democrats ruled the House and Senate for decades and never addressed this problem. So many talk and talk and say nothing.

Gasoline prices dropped just before the elections in 2004 and 2006.
Coincidence?
Or maybe the oil companies, which contributed so many millions to the GOP,. wanted to insure victory?
Gas prices are mainly the result of supply and demand.
demand is up 3% since last year, but refinery capacity is down 1%
When Exxon was allowed to merge with Mobile, they stated that they would save two billion dollars a year by eliminating "excess" refinery capacity.
Think about that.
In my area, two different tank farms were shut down.
We have just four big oil corporations now and their reserve is less then 5 days.
These same corporations are so poor that they get billions in tax credits every year!
But our Republican run government has cut social spending for the neediest people, education and food inspection every year since Bush took office.
But,, Bush also cut the taxes of the richest 1% and gave every working person a $300 dollar rebate in 2001.
Wow!
Is this a great country or what?
.
When America conserved gas during Carter's presidency gas supply ran ahead of demand and the prices fell. The full impact of conservation was not felt until 1981,,making Regan look good.
Bush and Cheney said they had no intention of demanding better gas mileage from Detroit and that conservation was for wimps.
So don't complain about high gas prices or Bush will call you a wimp.
/
The Republicans were in control of the House from 1994 to 2006 The Republicans did nothing to ease gas prices during that time.
Bush promised to "jaw bone OPEC " , to lower gas prices because he, being a former oil man, knew how to talk their talk.
.
Yeah, keep talking Republicans.
Pretty soon only the ditto heads will be listening.

Well, the Dem's have to reverse their policy against building oil refineries.
On the other hand I'm conservative and I'm tired of buying oil from Mid East nations. That the breeding ground for terrorists. I think we should keep oil prices as they are and find a domestic alternative source of energy. That will send those bastards back to the stone age!

this wouldnt be a problem if we had our own DAAAMN REFINERIES!!!! LETTING big oil shut them down because "its to costly to maintain"is like the most obvious answer to people who want to raise prices.look at what that idot chavez is doing.......ohh and opec...someday we are going to kick yer asses and you will know you guys fooked up..royallyi tell ya what i wouldnt mind doin alil mission impossible on that guy.how that guy became a president is beyond me....but i guess it seems to be going around.
yes democrats raise taxes to pay for all these programs they like to approve for stupid stuff.america just has to speak louder.if they dont some of these issues that arent backed by americans will cause trouble.
there have been americans that have tried to re-start some of these shut down in america.they were blocked by big oil.the banks are not loaning the money to individuals...we know oil has the power to disrupt anyones ideas.even key religious leaders known in america...trying to use their own wealth.
im not so sure about the enviro whacko thing.i mean lets face it we have nuclear waste roaming the oceans and dumping grounds....whats alil petroleum spill out west gonna hurt in one area

Hmmm. According to this chart, it looks like the price of gas started to spiral upwards right around the year 2000.
Now who came into complete power in 2000? Hmmm I wonder?

you dont hear em whining about bush now for gas...there noticeably quiet. perhaps thats why the attention "suddenly" switched to iraq. much as we hate high gas prices, several independent studies have shown there is nothing at this point illegal about it. simple supply and demand and considering tax and spend, try and teach a liberal economics. fat chance.
