Because this is a world of instant everything........namely.......instant gratification. They were all cheers when the war began, but now that the dirty work is underway, and the casualties come in, they want no part of it. They want instant war, instant victory. Why? Because this generation never experienced war, and they have no clue what it involves. So if we haven't won the thing in a few weeks, they automatically assume all is lost and then want to cut and run.
As for "wanting" to lose........if a person seriously wants us to lose, then I question their patriotism, and also their right to continue living in the USA.

What a lot of libs do not, cannot, and refuse to understand is that by invading a country that sympathizes with the terrorists, that is located where Iraq is, is the best way to conquer the ENTIRE Middle East and bring peace and democracy to the whole region. It's strategy, once the Middle East is settled there will be no place for people like Bin Laden to hide and carry out their evil plans. THAT is the ultimate VICTORY! They now want to claim all the current progress in Iraq as the accomplishment of THEIR leader's...that's the sick part!

Since Bush FINALLY is off "staying the course" and is now using his brain by including political strategy and engaging in a foreign policy within Iraq and among Iraq's neighbors, there is some hope. His previous "plan" included only military conflict and closing out political agenda concerning Iraq. We would have been there endlessly with nothing but more of the same or maybe even worse. You can thank the pressure from the Democrats for the fact that Bush is finally using the plan by the Iraq Study Group. You haven't been listening to what the dems have been saying. "CHANGE THE COURSE" over and over again. He's finally doing that.

There is no set goal for us to reach in Iraq, and random violence can happen anywhere. Until there is a strong and united governmental front in Iraq, i think there will always be violence and the impression of a losing battle, and providing a strong and united government was never the intention of the presence in Iraq. Perhaps the UN or others can view the situation as a humanitarian problem, regardless of previous views of the foreign presence, and provide more assistance...

You don't win or lose wars. There are only treaties and regime changes. Whoever taught you that you win or lose a war shouldn't be teaching.
Currently the war in Iraq is at a stalemate, we are at a point now where Iraq can protect itself..but we are still there because we don't want to look like idiots when we withdraw and they start their own civil war. It is inevitable, civil war will rage in Iraq for atleast another few years...we need to pull out now and allow nature to do the rest.
It was a mistake to invade to begin with, once we discovered there were no WMD our Commander in Chief should have been tried for Warcrimes. We have killed countless innocents in Iraq, and it is a shame that we are allowed to get away with that. We invaded under false pretenses and mislead the American people, our American soilders, and our allied nations. The only people claping for us now are the UK and Israel, how ironic eh?

If we (the allies) aren't losing then we must be winning so why are we not able to set a date for a withdrawal? Surely our military strategists can predict a reasonable time it will take to train the Iraqi army and police so that they can take control.
My feeling is that they know that as soon as we withdraw these groups will become death squads and will probably end up fighting each other.
Nothing is simple in these countries where inter tribal hatreds run deep.As can be seen in Lebanon and Palestine.
I don't want us to lose I just don't want to see anymore lives wasted and the easiest way to do that is to set a reasonable deadline and let them get on with it.

If you are not winning, then there has to be another word.
.
Since I haven't seen any flowers being thrown at our troops, and no streets have been named after Bush, I'm going to take a wild guess here and say we're losing.
.
No Democrat wants to lose.
What ditto-head told you that?
The Democratic party simply doesn't believe in throwing good lives away for no legitimate reason
The terrorists who destroyed the world trade towers came from Afghanistan, not Iraq.
Iraq had no WMDs, ever, period. Nor were they capable of getting them.
Your favorite government lied because they want to control the MidEast and the oil it floats on.
Iran offered to help us get the Taliban and ElQuaeda, but Bush refused their kind offer.
Osama Bin Laden is still alive and well after six years.
Do these facts mean anything to you?
Or are you one of those idiots on Fox News who know how to criticize but when it comes to actually doing the work and getting your hands dirty, you whine and cry and blame it all on the Liberals?

Because liberals are yellow cowards who are not capable of realizing the real threat of nuclear armed radicals, the Iranians should be crushed, liberals do not understand this war transcends borders, the Shiite radicals are dominant in both Iraq and Iran, a very complex struggle we are involved in.typical libs are into partisan politics and like rabid dogs only live to rip on our president and are only interested in promoting their perverse immoral national agendas, they are too selfish to unite against our enemies..an enemy that in fact is counting on libs to not support our president and our troops in the war on terrorism....liberals make me sick....ignorant yellow cowards!

How can WE win a civil war between two religious sects in a foreign country? Are we on the Shiite side or Sunni? Or even the Kurds? We would have to pick a side to actualy gage whether or not we are winning. We have, however lost almost 3,500 of the best and brightest men and women (our armed forces) that this country has to offer.

Dems are invested in our loss in Iraq. They view this as building their political power and really have no other issues since the vast majority of Americans reject their ideas on all major issues. The only reason the support for the war in the polls has dropped is that we have not won the war fast enough for the Xbox.. couch surfing.. lazy azz American populace.
