Mexico is neither among the poorest countries of thw World nor is she in the first World. Mexicos per capita income in purchsing power parity terms is $ 11, 250 or so as against $30,000 to $45,000 for countries like Israel, France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Sweden, Japan, Britain, Canada and the United State. Among the poorer countries are Egypt, India, Pakistan and Bangladesh ($ 2500 to $ 5000 range). China is somewhat better with per capita income of about $7,500.

Too many people. Bad political and economic history. No freedom like we enjoy in the US. There are many countries worse off than Mexico. North Korea is probably the worst. The people have so little to eat, they are actually getting smaller in stature. Just about every country in Africa is poorer than Mexico.
