Its Fremont Street btw. Locals hate it being called Freemont St.

Fremont Street is approx 3 miles from the north strip (or the Sahara hotel if you want to be more precise). The fremont Street experience is a giant canopy that covers all the hotels and works like a huge tv screen playing different images and music on the hour every hour from 6pm till 12am every evening.

There are loads of historic hotels on Fremont:
1.Golden Nugget once owned by Steve Wynn who also built the Bellagio, Treasure Island, Mirage and of course Wynn. Inside the nugget is the worlds largest golden nugget found in australia and on display near the lobby. The pool at the Nugget is amazing and newly built with sharks.
2.Golden Gate Hotel is the oldest in Las Vegas opening to the public in 1905 as the Hotel Nevada
3.El Cortez hotel was once owned by Bugsy Siegel infamous mobster who also built the Flamingo hotel on the strip some years later.
4.Plaza hotel was used as Biff's Casino in Back to the Future 2 and the restaurant "Center Stage" was used in the movie Casino.
5.Main street Station hotel just off Fremont has a piece of the Berlin Wall in the men's restroom.

I love freemont street. at night there is so much going on in the street. the laser light show overhead, the live bands playing in the street, the street performers, the beer stands outside of the casino, it is like one big party. the strip has volcano's and dancing water, but how long can that entertain you?

The place is well patrolled and is safe 24/7. Do not push your luck. The shops are o.k. but there is only one thing to do and that is to gamble. Go wild and see the show at the stage in the middle the street.

It is a great palce to visit. But go at night and enjoy the light show. There's lots of construction down there right now.
But you will have a great time.

I did not like going there. It was dirty and noisy. I just wanted to get back to the strip.
