By using the atomic bombs they invented, since they still donot have the nuclear capability during that time, some US scientist suggested to try to use it in Japan, and some adviser to the President also suggested that dropping the bomb could eventually end the Pacific war with Japan, since launching an invasion during that time is not any more an option since most troops are already engaged in Europe to thwart Hitler's juggernaut, and the defleating number of troops to be send to Japan is another problem. They do not have any. Air strikes doesn't do any damages either, by bombing convention bombs on thecountry side in Japan only fuel the desire of an ordinary Japanese to resist an invasion and since invasion will only killed so many civilians in the process, so no other recourse but to drop the bomb which the military doesnot have any idea what kind this is. Until they saw it by the time they drop it.
And one of the famous plane that drop it was ENOLA GAY.

C. Nuclear bombs.

We (the US) dropped two, one on Hiroshima, and the other a few days later on Nagasaki. The loss of life and destruction was horrifying. The Japanese surrendered unconditionally.

**EDIT**

I am not trying to be mean, but have you done any of the assigned reading? I noticed you are asking an awful lot of really basic multiple choice questions. I am not getting down on you, but this stuff is all stuff that you can look up really easily, simply by doing a search. I know it doesn't seem like it, but in the long run, it will really be better for you if you do your own homework. There isn't always someone handy to answer your questions in the real world.
