You can use anti viruses like Mcafree, Norton and AVG. You can get these at any software shop, make sure its the latest, but they can be expensive so you can buy like the 2005 version of Norton and download updates everyday for newly found viruses. Its probably harder to work with though, but anyway in sometime you can have it as good as the latest version.

If you can afford it, go for one of the main stream antivirus softwares like Norton, Semantic, Mcafee etc. If you can't pay for them, look for free or trial versions, which may or may not solve your problems.

Another brute way is to format your hard disk and start afresh with fresh OS and drivers etc. but unless you have backed up your information somewhere cleanly, you will reintroduce the virus again if you try to load the files from backup.

You don't - you remove viruses from the Microsoft Windows operating system that is running on your computer. You computer itself will be unaffected, as will any other running operating systems on it, such as the more stable and secure Linux operating system.

To remore virus infections from Microsoft Windows, use a Microsoft Windows Anti-virus program such as Sophos Anti Virus.

Download AVG antivirus, it's free and my best recommendation.
DO NOT use norton antivirus because it never works. Use ad-aware too, it's also free. Download McAfee Site advisor and spywareblaster which is again free service. All of these are freeware and the ones that I use for my computer.

I suggest getting a copy of Norton Anti-virus. It's cheap and easy to use. You can download it at their site of you can purchase it at most department stores that sell software.
