if a motherboard has FSB 1000MHz and has a cpu that has 2.4 ghz and fsb 2000mhz will the cpu work?. how do i know that?? it seems like the cpu is way to fast for motherboard because the fsb is 2000mhz to 1000 mhz. one more thing how do i know if the motherboard supports a 2.4 ghz cpu or not?

the cpu clock and the FSB are diffrent. each cpu has clock and fsb for example a intel celeron 2.4GHz has 400MHz fsb
and a intel pentium 2.4GHz has 800MHz fsb
the FSB is speed of transfering data between cpu and ram but cpu clock is internal speed of cpu.
a motherboard with FSB 1000MHz means it can support a cpu with 1000Mhz FSB not clock.

If the motherboard supports AMD64 X2 AM2, you need not worry about HT (Hyper Transport). This is even usually adjustable downwards in BIOS (HT multiplier).

I call your bluff.

There's no such thing as a 2GHz FSB.

Let alone 1GHz is still cutting edge.

HT is Hyperthreading. not sure what the 2GHz is coming from though.
