Help.. Why is teaching English Language a difficult job .?

Since English is my second language as well, I'd like to point out that English is not a phonetics's based language only.
It is also made up out of several different languages, henceforth a word can have multiple meanings the basic vocabulary is extensive.
Grammatically it is very simple compared to most European languages.
To be able to learn English well, it is very helpful to study Latin, since more than half of the English root words stem from Latin.
However this applies to many languages, a basic knowledge of Latin, and word origin is very helpful in learning, and teaching a foreign language.
A good program to use for that is called Latin, English from the roots up.

As a teacher, I would say that what makes teaching English difficult is that it's a living, constantly growing and changing language. Too many teachers make the mistake of teaching English by rote memorization, a method which simply does not work. Effective English teaching requires conversation, games, and modern techniques; it cannot be taught like math, or even Latin.

because english is an extremely complicated language with numerous confusing rules. I caught onto french faster than I did to english & I've known & spoke english since birth!

English teachers are expected to cover reading to include comprehension, vocabulary, Greek and Latin roots, fact vs. opinion, main idea, details, etc.

Literature ties right in with reading. We cover many genre including various types of poetry, short stories, novels, plays, essays, and each of these forms includes literary terms students must learn and recognize. Of course, comprehension ties in here, and students must learn to recognize characterization, dialogue, descriptive, narrative techniques as well as passages that set tone, mood, add foreshadowing, etc.

Out of experience, I can say that it's not difficult at all.To overcome such a difficulty, just prepare your lesson plans well.look for activities that may help you teach what you have intended to.Use a dictionary to learn how to deal with the unexpected.Never let your students find out that you are not well prepared for the job.Use gestures, realias, and visual aids to present new vocabulary and structures.Exchange teaching items with your colleagues IUse funny activities, games funny questions ( "do you stir the sugar in your coffee with your right hand or left hand ? their obvious answers are " with either of them" . it cant be that hard, everyone speaks it. They say that it is the hardest language to learn, but that is just a copout by lazy americans who only speak one language. Sure, it is a hodgepodge of different and contradicting words, but so are some other languages, i had a much harder time with german and greek than english, and as for arabic i just couldnt do do it.
