Is it true that Aboriginal culture says that one's loved ones who have passed away and ancestor's appear to the living as crows, can anyone tell me anything about this?? I just lost my 11 week old baby and he/she was part Aboriginal - since my baby's death a crow has been hanging around and crowing at me, it has come quite close to me and has even been sitting outside my house of a night (which I did not think it was common for crows to be out of a night) any information would be great also any sites on the Aboriginal culture would be greatly appreciated thanks

I'm so sorry for your loss, my prayers are with you.

I found three sites for you, scroll the first one towards the bottom it gives some information.

I do believe in good omens they can be anything from a feather, to an animal or a bird. Maybe this is your child's way of telling you he/she is okay.

I am not sure about aboriginal tradition but in alchemy the crow is the symbol of transformation through death. Your crow is definitely hanging around to tell you that all is well and there is much assistance for your child in and through her death. As painful as her passing must be, be assured that the crow is a powerful and positive symbol of assisting and helping you find peace and your daughter gain from her short experience as your child. It is a privilege and an honour to have the crow come to you like this.

I have had 2 experiences with crows and death and as much as death is painful to deal with the crow is a positive sign.

I am so sorry for your lost, and I do hope that you will remain blessed in spite of things going the way that they have for you.... And all animals are suppose to act as a warning device and they are suppose to act as some form of a protective line... And keep you from furthur harm........ People that believe that crows or ravens are the bringer of bad tiding have mis-read something............
