Keep hearing all these cries of socialist democrats with regards to some of the statements Hillary has been making lately.Well i would like to see the republican supporters take a look at their own party for a moment and judge whether they might be the communist party.Bush is scaling back democracy ,wiretapping anyone he sees fit,if they want to hold you without giving you a speedy trial now all they have to do is slap the terror suspect label on you.

Another thing i want to point out.You republicans say democrats are into big government and spend out of control.Well when Bush had a GOP controlled congress they managed to create the biggest "big government" we have ever seen lol.And the spending,Clinton had a surplus each year when he was in office while Bush is about 700 billion in the red each year.Sometimes i think republicans pay no attention at all to what their own party does cause what they accuse dems of doing...their own party does it ten times worse.

The GOP has been painting the Democrats as Liberal commies for as long as I can remember.
The GOP is controlled by big corporations that do not want the American people to have their liberal freedoms. People who listen to Rush Limbaugh and watch Fox News have bought into this slander against the American People.
.
As for the Republicans being Communists? No way, the Republican Party has been hijacked by a band of corrupt Texas oilmen disguised as born-again-Christians.
Tom Delay laid out the plan for the "K-Street" lobby, which has ripped off the American people for the last 12 years.
.
Commies? nah,,just good-ole corrupt boys from Texas!

You are quite confused. In the spectrum of political theory, Socialism is one step before Communism. Conservatism, and then extreme Conservatism is a step below Fascism. The way you need to look at it is as follows:

Being Liberal infers that you feel it is the government's responsibility to distribute social wealth, programs to all of the people, particularly those that are not well off at the expense of those who are.

While to be conservative infers less government control, more freedom for the individual, and relies on human beings having compassion and supporting those in need through humanitarian efforts and through private good will.

Thus, as is self evident...more taxes are required if the government is giving the responsibility to perform the actions which Conservatives believe should be in the hands of the private sector. Therefore, in general, Democrats are equated with higher individual taxes and Republicans are seen to be the party who prefers lower taxes and leaving the money in the hands of the free individual who will inevitably do the right thing. For example, Bill Gates foundation, Universities, etc.

Democrats use explicitly socialist language, whereas Republicans pretend that they're the party of capitalism and fiscal restraint. Both parties fail the free market test, but the Democrats are BY FAR the worst offenders. That's not even arguable. But because I can't trust either party again, I'll be hard pressed to support just any ol' Republican

I think the similarity to Communism has more to do with the socialists than anything the Republicans could ever come up with. There isn't even a close comparison to Communism and Republicans. But I can sure see how Democrats and Socialist/Communism match up very nicely.

What channel are you watching? Every pundit on Fox News criticizes Democrats for taking too extreme a position. Isn't Fox News part of the media? Moderation should be a virtue for both parties. Conservatives have no concept of what moderation is, though, demonstrated by their attempts to characterize anything liberal as socialist.

socialism and Communism are almost used interchangeably...

The USSR = The United Soviet Socialist Republics.... and we called them communists.

Red China is more socialist than communist... but we call them communists.

There are many aspects of socialism and Communism where they work the same. government owns stuff and lets people use it in Socialism. Everyone owns everything and they let each other use it in Communism.

There's never really been a communist government... and if it was attempted... it would fail quickly. first person who didn't want to work for his share, but still wants his share... the system breaks.

So... your assignment of one to Democrats AND the other to Republicans doesn't work.

Republicans are primarily Capitalists... people own stuff and the government should mind its own business.

Socialism and Communism are basically the same thing. Both were derived from Karl Marxs' writings. I tend to agree with you however on Republicans spending these days. I believe it is more a product of the system than of any change in political philosophy on republicans part. Basically People want to get re-elected so they spend spend spend hoping to buy peoples votes. With this new Immigration bill, the republican party just sold my vote.

I understand the point you are trying to make, referring to communism and it's penchant for strong arm tactics on it's citizens and having ruthless secret police to keep it's citizens in check, but, from an economic perspective, communism is the next step after socialism. So, it would not make sense to call GOPers "communists".

Fascists, yes. communists, no. :)

And you are right, this president and his GOP Congress added the biggest most expensive social program since LBJs Great Society. So for them to accuse Dems of being "socialists" and "big spenders" really is just empty rhetoric.

Actually they are not communists. They are Nazis. Bush's grandfather was a friend and supporter or Hitler, the most notorious Nazi, even donating money to him and his cause, . It is a far cry from Communism which believes in giving to those who have not. The Nazis want to keep it all for themselves. You already know the extent they are willing to go to in order to obtain what they want. You know, the lying, the illegal and immoral war, the torture camps, the $15,000,000.00 per day missing from Iraq, the war profiteering, the gas prices, I can't go on or I'll barf.
