I am doing an assignment on golf biomechanics and i was just wondering where the centre of mass is, not centre of gravity, the centre of MASS???

You should define this a bit more. Do you mean the center of mass of the golfer, of the golf club, of the golf club head and ball combination, etc.
For the golfer, the center of mass is normally in the center of the body about 1/3 of the way up from the hips to the shoulders because of the proportionate weight of legs against arms. But when the golfer is stand bent over and revolving mostly at the hips then the reference is normally to a point centered in the body around which the body most easily rotates for a free swing.

i believe that you are talking about the centre or as some would call the sweet spot on a club face. this is a very difficult area to define when your talking about the amount of money being spent to improve golf equipment today.
for example on a club designed for say a pro-golfer the centre of mass is small area center of club face.
as you progress towards the higher handicap players you find that the centre of mass to be larger and therefore giving the player a better chance of hitting it.
