both people had drug-resistant TB, both knew that they could possibly affect the general public, both defied orders by goverment agencies to wear masks and isolate themselves, yet one is in jail and one is not? why?

These cases are quite different. Mr. Daniels was under a voluntary isolation and violated those rules (it wasn't a government order) and he ended up in a hospital jail ward. Mr. Speaker was given a governmental order to turn himself in to Italian health officials. He then hopped a plane and illegally returned to the United States. I feel he should receive at least the same isolation as Mr. Daniels, and if/when his TB clears up he should face federal felonies for his actions.

We shouldnt have imprisoned them, we should have them given free travel all over iraq and iran.
