I must say, the more I listen to American Stars and Bars, I think it's gotta be one of the best albums ever. I'm suprised that you don't hear that much about it. You hear about all this "the best album ever made" stuff, but to me the mentioned album is almost perfect to me. Anybody else?

By the way I'm only 28. Someone who is pretty young to even know who the man is. Thought I would add this.

I think that it is equally awesome and i think that he may be the most underrated legend in music we have today. i once asked a friend of mine if they were stranded on an island and could only have the music of one artist and they said it would be Neil's. This was 20 years ago and my friend was 22, this shows how much influence great songwriting and playing can influence different age groups, I think that as far as male singer/songwriters go only Dylan has been able to do this as well

I prefer On The Beach, but, regardless, Neil Young is one of the all-time greats. All his albums from the 70's are nearly flawless.

I haven't actually given it a listen. Maybe I will. I haven't listened to much of his music. I only own After the Gold Rush, and I like that one a lot.

He is incredible....After the Goldrush was one great song after another. Did you know he is into trains? I heard somewhere that he helped a toy train company that was gong to go broke by buying half of the company.

I love his song "Philadelphia"! It should've beat out Bruce Springsteen's song of the same name for the Academy Award!
