I don't think people give the police or DVLA much confidence as it is, I think we all know when push comes to shove the only person we can rely on to prove our innocence is ourselves because nobody will go out of their way to help you.

The system is fundamentally flawed, yes it is the criminals at fault who are causing the crime but shouldn’t we be proactive in cutting off the vulnerability? Obviously there is something wrong with the system if it is being exploited in such a way and so easily.

Though it will be very difficult to replace the identification system as everything can be exploited but we could at least make it harder than the average ‘normal’ person who can just swap their plates.

It isn’t irresponsible, it is the truth, if the truth hurts then I think you need to revaluate certain things.

No, if the police decide it's too easy to clone registration details then they should say so. If they say nothing in such circumstances they're failing in their duty of prevention of crime.
