I heard a 10 month old boy got a gun license from his grandfather... he (the baby) signed (scribbled) his "name" on it and everything.... It was in Illinois...Is this true? Don't you have to be a certain age to have a gun liscense?....

no age limit, as long as you can aim and pull trigger then that count

I take it your just surprised someone in Illinois obeyed the law.

The gun was a gift from grandpa to the grandson. If the dad registered the gun in his name he would have violated the law because it was his son's.

I've read news reports of those that have allowed their Firearms Owners Identification Card to accidentally expire have their firearms confiscated. Unfortunately, this wasn't included in the story otherwise it would make the gun registration in the kid's name more understandable for those that don't know anything about gun ownership.

He did it as a joke and was surprised when he received it.

The baby got the gun because there is no age restriction on obtaining a license in Illinois.

All states have their own regulation guidelines as to age.

BS......
Since 1968. Federal states a person must be 18 yrs old to buy a long gun and 21 for pistols. Most states do not require a license to buy, just to carry.

this is ironic that as much as a gov like Brewer complains with reference to the federal government, she is nevertheless unwilling to take heed to the perspectives of the community governments in her state. This new regulation takes the alternative removed from them with reference to the disposition of the weapons and could maximum in all threat discourage gun purchase returned classes, that's doubt why the NRA supported the regulation.
