Try installing the driver first into the HARD DRIVE before putting in the wifi adapter. Shutdown the PC then plug in the adapter. Power ON your PC. Windows will detect the adapter and either activate it automatically or lead you to the process of activating it. Once the device is activated, configure it so that it will connect with the wireless router.
