This is a simplistic answer but think of bus speed as a bus carrying passengers. The more passengers the bus can carry at one time, the larger number of passengers arrive at the destination point. The larger the bus of the motherboard,(Front Side Bus), the more information will be transferred from the cpu. So yes the larger the bus, the faster the computer,(along with a faster cpu, and ram, plus chipsets)
