While wrestling, I took a shot on my friend at practice, and he sprawled onto my back. When he did, my knee bent awkwardly and i heard a loud pop. And I kept wrestling afterwards, because i didnt feel much pain. The next morning i woke up, and I could barely get out of bed. Right now i can walk fine, and RARELY feel pain. But i wrestled with a friend today, and felt pain, even though i thought it was healed. So can anyone please, PLEASE tell me if i'll need surgery, or how long it should take(max time it should take to heal)? Because im really worried right now since I might not be able to play football next year

Any injury, you need to rest rather than go back wrestling, so you have now extended the time for repair. Depending on how bad the injury is, the longer it will take. Could be 20 to 60 days.

knee sprain can be a major problem with this pop-up noise and when there is swelling in the joint. here you may have a ruptured knee ligament. ACL,PCL, MCL AND LCL ligaments are major structures that may be involved. these ligaments heel slowly evenif there is minor sprained situation.first you must be sure that ligaments are not ruptured. Any orthopaedic surgeon can understand this.when there is no major rupture you must go on with quadriceps and hamstring exercises. avoid sports for 3 week. this is the critical period for ligaments to be healed after a mild sprain.

Message to the other answerers: Why Chicago get so many thumbs down, he WAS the user Donovan T. He was a great user, and message to the questioner: you might as well just leave him alone. He left because he didn't want to be part of this section anymore (no offense) and giving his account back would be useless, sure he'll have his account back but theres no chance that hes coming back anytime soon.

The price of knee surgery is very low in India as compared to USA, UK and Canada. My cousin also got her hip replacement surgery in India through the forerunners healthcare .She is more than very happy with the results. She is totally pain free now. She just paid 25% of the amount she was quoted in USA and is all praise for this forerunners healthcare company.

Forerunners Healthcare is very famous in India. I read a lot about them in the Newspapers and magazines. I have read a lot of their patient stories also. They arrange financing for USA, Canadian, UK and other international patients who plan to have surgery abroad for low price, as all joint surgery is not covered by insurance in USA or by NHS in the UK. They also have photos pasted of their International patients. You can checkout their website. There are huge cost savings. As a doctor I personally believe that your surgery can be easily handled in India, as the quality of healthcare available In India is simply best in the world. The surgeons are USA/UK trained and facilities are 5 star.

Hope this helps.

If you want a definite answer you need to see a doctor. No one can tell you online whether or not you need surgery.
