Depends on where you're shot. A bullet wound to the stomach with no help to stop the bleeding is one of the most painful deaths because you can feel the stomach acid begin to eat your organs. Or so they say.

Well it does depend on where you are shot. A head shot that damages the brain you probably wont feel much. However if you are hit in a not so crutial area it burns like fire and if you bleed out you just get weak the numb and slip away.

My husband had to treat many people with gunshot wounds some that died and some that didn't. From what he tells me some people appeared that they had been killed instantly (but he doesn't know if it was painful because they couldn't tell him). Others did die in pain, sometimes weeks after getting shot.

it'd depend on where you were shot. Head shot, probably not. Femoral artery shot, you'd probably be dead before you realized what happened. Gut shot, probably would hurt a lot.
