"Unbreak My Heart" - Toni Braxton

"My All" - Mariah Carey

There are quite a few more out there... "In This Twilight" and "Zero Sum," both by Nine Inch Nails, have some of the saddest lyrics I've ever heard. Though they deal with heartbreak and loss on a much larger scale (end of the world scenarios), they do very eloquently state what it feels like to know that you're facing the end with someone that you love.

"And I guess I just wanted to tell you
As the light starts to fade
That you are the reason
That I am not afraid

And I guess I just wanted to mention
As the heavens will fall
We will be together soon if we
Will be anything at all..."

She's Out of My Life by 98 Degrees
What Hurts the Most by Rascal Flatts

Those are the ones I could think of off my music library

Sample the song "Does Anybody Know" by Fool's Garden, as it speaks about a man who is in love with a woman who sees him only as a friend.

Or "You Keep Me Hanging On" by Vanilla Fudge. It speaks of someone who wishes to stop loving another, but simply cannot.

These are my tastes and I hope that they work well for you.

He Stopped Loving Her Today- George Jones

This song gives me goosebumps whenever I hear it.

He said I'll love you 'til I die
She told him you'll forget in time
As the years went slowly by
She still prayed upon his mind

He kept her picture on his wall
Went half crazy now and then
He still loved her through it all
Hoping she'd come back again

Kept some letters by his bed
Dated 1962
He had underlined in red
Every single I love you.
I went to see him just today
Oh but I didn't see no tears
All dressed up to go away
First time I'd seen him smile in years

He stopped loving her today
They placed a wreath upon his door
And soon they'll carry him away
He stopped loving her today

(Spoken)

Ya' know she came to see him one last time
Oh, we all wondered if she would
And it kept running through my mind
This time he's over her for good

He stopped loving her today
They placed a wreath upon his door
And soon they'll carry him away
He stopped loving her today

Nothing Compares 2 u by Sinead O'Connor

This is how it starts:

It's been seven hours and fifteen days
Since you took your love away
I go out every night and sleep all day
Since you took your love away
Since you been gone I can do whatever I want
I can see whomever I choose
I can eat my dinner in a fancy restaurant
But nothing
I said nothing can take away these blues
`Cause nothing compares
Nothing compares to you
