I am trying to find out how to get Poly Aluminium chloride from mixing aluminium chloride hexahydrate with calcium aluminate. Do i mix them in water and boil? What should i do?

You and Anne Chris should get together. You are both asking questions about hydrates and seem to like to smoke.

I'm not sure what you mean by Poly Aluminum chloride, but as far as hydrates are concerned, they actually contain water, but are not wet. As the crystals of hydrates are formed (from whatever compounds we are talking about), if there are "holes" between the ions in the crystal structure formed, water molecules can occupy these sites. The resultant crystal contains water, but it is trapped so it cannot escape until the crystal is heated, the crystal is disrupted and the water escapes as steam.

Hexahydrate chemical compound means that it's one molecule is chemicaly bonded with 6 molecules of water. If these water molecules are removed the properties of the compound may be changed.
