When I think tropical, I think of the colors of the sand (beige), the ocean (aqua blue), palm trees (light brown, dark brown and dark green), and tropical flowers (bright pink, hot pink, bold yellow, and red).
Look up some pictures of Hawaii or islands on Yahoo! or some other site to give you exact shades. Like the example in the link below.

Blue and orange for the two. Hawaii, blue for the sea and orange because of the fact that's the 1st shade that is composed of suggestions whilst i think of of tropical settings or in keeping with danger its the sunsets. Florida, i think of its because of U of F Gators.
