i will rather be rich and die at 35, than be born poor and live til 98. On the other hand, just because one is born poor does not mean that they will remain poor. besides, i dont think i want to live till i am 98.

Considering I'm already past 35, I'll choose poor and dying at 98!

The problem with this question is that the rich usually have better health care and live longer than the poor not to mention less work related accidents.

I would pick the way I am in reality. Be born to a modest Christian family and work hard to obtain what I want. Even more importantly, I pray everyday for things to pick up.

I wouldn't mind getting billions now and dying at 35. I wouldn't want to be middle-aged with all that money and go crazy with plastic surgery, botox, and pain meds!

The potential for happiness (and unhappiness) is the same, rich or poor. I choose the second option, and pursue happiness with whatever resources come along.
