'ditto' is an Italian word, specifically from Tuscan dialect. It's a variant of 'detto' (said), past participle of verb 'dire' (to say)

A ditto mark is a way of basically writing "repeat" or "same" so as not to have to repeat the writing of a phrase or a bibliography source.

This is a ditto mark: "

People started saying "ditto" to mean, "I agree." OR "I am thinking the same thing as you."

Pretty much anything that is either a carbon copy, or a repeated item, or a statement of agreement is considered to be a ditto.

DITTO means "same here". It's different than same here only in that it means you mean EXACTLY the same thing and you are agreeing with the other person so the "ditto" comes right after their comment. :)

"ditto" means exactly..

for example-a person dictates "Geography is a subject of great importance. We are here to learn Geography" Kid writes
"Geography is a subject of great importance.we are here to learn ditto...
you see Geography is being repeated so the kid uses Ditto

hope your doubt's cleared

it is another way of duplicating what somebody else said as your own answer or comment, because you wanted to say what they said too, or because you agree with what they say about something/someone....
