as long as they are cleaned of any extra parasites they should be fine, May even have some calcium benefit to them.However I would think they could be rough on the mouth, and digestive track because of sharp edges. I would use caution before ingesting any, or at least large amounts.

Well think of this way, do you like to eat the shells of Shrimp ? It is not harmful, but I do not think it taste anything....but if you like it, go ahead. If it is not safe, we all would have know it or heard of it by now.

do you pick them up off the street or do you order them from a restaurant? escargot is a delicacy but they take the shells of ,, I dont believe they can harm you what goes in must come out.... so eat away

sure calcium does not harm you ,

but why would you want to do that,

it is tasteless and crunches horrible in between your teeth ,also must be hard to swallow.
