I think you can have faith in something far and distant. That's fine. If it keeps you doing good by the other people on the planet, that's great.

I think having faith in others and consciously doing right by others if far more important. To await a judgement that is decades away is something else. To choose to be a good person, and an asset to the civilization construct in which we live is likely a purposeful and honorable life. I think that's enough.

A religious person needs much more than "faith..."

Above all else, they need "fear..."

And a gullible nature in general, and a willingness to be conned, and a really scary relative that brainwashed them when they were young into believing something they may or may not have come to believe if they were raised to think for themselves, and come up with their own conclusions...
But we can't have that, now, can we...?!?
Oh, no...

Faith is the belief in things unseen, a hope of things yet to come. Without faith hope is pointless, and without hope life has no meaning. The answer is faith, hope and love. Without any of those life ceases to hold value and meaning. Without those we might as well give up. But because we have faith we continue to hope and because we hope we continue to love and because we continue to love we have faith that life will be worth it in the end. Is the juice worth the squeeze?

Faith...Hope...Love. The greatest of all gifts is love. It takes strength to have or keep the faith you have. If you have love, and hope for the world in which we live you will find faith along the way. Combined with love and hope, your faith will grow...a pure heart with good intent is fertile for the seed of faith.
