I am -the 6 o'clock news on Radio 4 has just announced that all the Palestinian factions will work to free Alan Johnston. There is a drug scare about counterfeit drugs for prostate cancer. Oh and the story about the Dutch tv programme to choose a kidney donor by three patients has turned out to be a hoax by the programme makers.
A Government apparatchik has suggested we bring back politeness - about 10 years too late after John Prescott's behaviour.

Its a beautiful sunny morning in Saddleworth, England!
On Whit Friday we had brass band competitions in all of the local villages, up to 80 bands at about 10 venues! Today we have a fancy dress 'Beer Walk' for charity at which the participants visit about 14 pubs whilst collecting cash!

I'm nearly at the end of a night shift. I'm still awake, having started at 10pm last night, and finish at 8.30am this morning.
