Hi. No way . Titanic (1997) is far too long and drawn out .It is really all about a teenage love affair and only comes good at the end .A Night To Remember,a 1950s movie about the Titanic is a much better movie.Even though Titanic cost over $300 million to make and received 11 Academy Awards (the most number since Ben Hur in 1959 ) this alone does not guarantee the best movie ever made.

No. I really think movies that are/should be considered "best film ever made" are movies that plays on human's emotions. Realistically speaking, the newer Titanic was a fictional story and the only thing that was true about it was the ship sinking, some people dying, and some people living. In addition, The remake Titanic had hype about it because of the so called special effects of the sinking. The original version wasn't about Jack & Rose. It was about people fighting to stay alive. Crash, Shawshank Redemption, The Color Purple, Shindler's List, Gone With The Wind are movies the would fit the "best movie ever made category."

Not only is "Titanic" NOT the best movie ever made, but the 4 other films nominated for best picture that year ("LA Confidential", "The Full Monty", "Good Will Hunting" and "As Good as it Gets") were all more worthy than that cheese-fest.

I wouldn't say the best of all because there are some great movies out there that have been made in the past 100 years.
It would probably be in my top 10 movies of all time and maybe in the top 2 of the 90's.

I don't know if I would call it the best movie ever made but it is the highest grossing movie ever made. Also although most people think that its the movie thats won the most awards thats not true. It is tied with the movie Ben-Hur (11 awards each)

You gotta be kidding. The best of what? I am sure if you were to look carefully at the movie you will find it trite and banal without much substance for such a disaster. But I sort of enjoyed it. Would have enjoyed it better if it hadn't been for de Caprio.
