No, you shouldn't. It's the most sensible thing he's done so far, and if he was smart, he'd dump you.

I don't know but talk like some one who believes in civil rights. You also believe that the Democrats do so too. Alas that is not the truth. When L. B.J. put the civil rights bill before congress the most of the Democrats voted against it. It took the Republicans to pass the bill. As usual the Democrats lie about what they stand for. Democrats say they're for the little guy. If so then why do they raise taxes every time they get a chance? They say they are taxing the rich. Then how come every ones taxes goes up? I think you ought to ask him to educate you on the fact about politics.

Are you sure he know's what the Bush regime is completely about? Most Bush supporters just support because they were told it is the right thing to do. Maybe you should take this opportunity to educate him about the truth of the Bush regime. There are alot of great sources for info on the truth of Bush and his buddies on the net. Oh, and by the way, I don't think he was trying to hurt your feelings by laughing at you. If you step into his position, it's actually a funny comment. But my opinion is: No specific group/nationality/etc. is supposed to vote for any specific party. That's the problem now adays, people don't vote for what they truely believe in. They vote for the one of the two piles of s*** that smells a little better than the other. About your original question, I don't think that just because he voted for Bush you should break up with him. Not unless it's gonna truely cause a problem in your guys' relationship. But as I said, think for yourself!!! Try talking to him!

Well, if you want to be with someone who's idea of spreading democracy is to make war and kill the people in the name of "Freedom" go ahead.
If you want someone with true family values and a true Catholic/Christian then look a bit harder....or maybe you can teach him some values so he can grow a little if you do love him since love is more important than the Republican and Democratic parties combined.

He's a bit dense for supporting Bush but you were a bit inconsiderate telling him that "his" people (which are also "mine") should vote democrat. That's pretty racist. But that's not the point, the fact of the matter is, he's dumb for supporting Bush despite 911 and you're insensitive to different races from your own and you both would never be able to sustain a serious relationship complete with love, respect and trust.

I don't think you should dump him. However, if he hurt your feelings, you should certienly tell him so. Remember that he has the right to his vote, however he votes, and that using the excuse that he is poor, mexican, and unemployed is hurtful.
Tell me this, do politics really matter in a relationship? Will it matter if you get married and have four children? What ever happened to love? Do you love him enough to let him vote the way he feels he should?

Well I wouldnt dump him just for supporting bush. While I myself hate bush and wouldnt support him if you paid me. But some people are just fools. Bush is good at fooling people. My boyfriend and his whole family support bush. We have dated for 4 years. We just had to learn not to talk politics.

he can vote however he wants. If it bothers you then leave him. Dont use "his people" makes you sound like you are trying to hard. His people can be many things what do you mean by "his people," mexican, tall, short, poor, the mexican race has variations of social standing and opinions just like any other race.

It sounds like there needs to be more discussion about your political leanings and his. There are other people who vote Republican -- many of them are Mexican. No political party is all good or all bad. If you like everything else about your boyfriend, it may be worth it to communicate more rather than write him off after 5 months. Do you agree in other major areas of your life, e.g., spiritual beliefs, marriage, having kids, what you want in a mate, etc.? Talk more. Communication is key in a good relationship. Good luck.

Live by example. It doesn't have to be a Democrat vs. Republican problem. All that matters is that you show him what REAL Republican/Democratic values are. If he can't deal your values, or your can't deal with his, dump him.

Well since Bush is a big supporter of Mexicans he is doing the right thing for him...but I feel like in your heart of hearts you know it's wrong. If you can't give him a crash course in politics and show him that Bush has an ulterior motive for the Mexicans get a new man.
