As the previous person said, there is no such thing as an 'accurate' thermometer. At any rate, temperatures can vary from place to place mainly because of topography (it could be flat in one area, but hilly a few miles away). In addition, the weather conditions as well - could be nice and clear in one part, but cloudy and misty (whatever the case may be) in another area. Another thing: which type of front.. that really makes a difference in temperature, especially in a couple cities that are a few miles apart. For example, at one time - Fargo, North Dakota's temperature was around 70, while three miles to the east in neighboring Moorhead, Minnesota.. it was about 55 degrees.
