I recently found out that Carrie Underwood is not a country "person". She was touring with Brad Paisley, and my mom and I went to her concert In Salt Lake on Decemeber 1st, and I even was able to meet her, but I found out that when she started her career she just decided to go country and do country music, although she is not a country person. I was surprised....did anyone else know this?

Well she grew up on a farm raising animals and there is footage od her as a very little girl singing "Independence Day" by Martina, I'd say that makes her country. She's from Oklahoma.

Maybe she just likes country better. That could be why she chose it as a career.

She has that distinct country sound. I think if she had chosen pop she wouldn't have gone 1/3 the distance she has.

yeah well if u watched american idol, you would notice that she can sing everything-she just chose country because she is very talented and could make gospel soud appealing to an atheist.

How does that shock anyone?

She is an Americans Idle blingophobe who will sing and do anything to get spotlight.

I have been turned off since she did two Christian songs and then came up with "Before He Cheats". What genre is she representing? That last song should have been pitched to Gretchen Wilson.
