I don't have great credit but I have a pretty good paying job, but luckily my wife does. WHat's the best way to go about getting a car loan? I only want to get a used car that's not too expensive.

I recommend that you save up the money necessary to purchase the used car with cash!
Here are my reasons why:
1. Millionaires don't have car payments (that's one reason they have become millionaires!)
2. You will get a better deal when you are paying with cash!
3. Paid-for automobiles drive differently (better)
4. Your credit is not great - the last thing you need is to acquire more debt! When your credit is suspect, you will pay a serious penalty in high interest in order to get a loan. It's not worth it!
The day I decided to stop doing debt was the day I started winning financially!

If you or your wife belong to a credit union, that's probably your best source.
