Emphasis shouldn't be placed on looks; it needs to be "taught" to the person starting at a young age.
I don't use the word Ugly unless it's to describe a person on the inside.
I will tell people outright it's a horrible thing to describe a person as Ugly.
It's cruel, ignorant and insensitive and serves no purpose.

Society puts too much emphasis on looks because of the media. Perhaps if we didn't have TV beauty wouldn't be so classified. The media think 105 lbs 5'8 white women are beautiful. Only because they seem to use these women as leading roles in movies and commercials so they're passing on the idea to all people that this is what "beauty" is. FALSE, this is not what beauty is, this is what society tells us about beauty. The dove campagne, "real women have curves" uses real women in their commercials so that younger girls won't grow up thinking that being anorexically skinny is beauty. f**** the media, they already tell us what's fashionable don't let them brain wash us

Society is just corrupt through the images the media puts up and how everyone always sees the pretty modesl. Basically, people can be pretty on the outside, but very UGLY in the inside.

Those that run the media companies put out images of people that they fine attractive and brainwash everyone else to believing find those people attractive as well. Basically it's because generally people are shallow, people don't want to be around those that they consider ugly . They can't look deeper and see the beauty in someones eyes and spirit.

I think it goes all the way back to Adam and Eve. That apple sure appealed to Eve and looks/desires have ruled every since. Looks fade away with age but a beautiful soul lasts for eternally.

I have always wondered that...it's not a person's fault the way they look and people always think they're so uncool just because of their face...so weird
like if an ugly person is wearing some outfit you'll think its uncool, but if a pretty person wears it it's cool...
