How many clothing items r ideal in a closet?

Question

im wondering wat items r ideal in a preppy/sporty teen girls closet. I talking dresses, shoes, jeans, tops, cami's, knits, sweaters, sweatshirts, skirts, etc.

Wat items would u reccomend. I can afford Amercan Eagle, Hollister, Abercrombie, Etc.

And wat outfits for a day at school? Jewlerly that area need?

Well... I'll say what I have in my closet-
Dresses- Need to get some!!!
Shoes- I have 3 flats, 3 flip flops, 2 sneakers, 2 running shoes, and 1 basketball shoes
Jeans- Like 5 pairs, but it's so hard to find good ones
T-Shirts (the type you would by at AE etc)- about 15
T-Shirts (like sporty big ones)- prolly 25
Tops (knits, long sleeves, etc)- 7-10 (more of a t person)
Sweaters- 3- not the most versatile IMO
Sweatshirts (Athletic)- 7
Sweatshirts (from places like AE)- 4
Skirts- 3 cloth, 3 more dressy
Keep in mind this is my whole closet!! Some of the stuff I never wear. Hope I helped. (Time to go clean out my closet)

Dresses - nice pastel or spring colors that really show off your body.

Shoes - definitely Sperries, Rainbows, flats, Wallabees, boots, sandals, heels (peep toe, stilettos, slingbacks, wedges) flip flops.

Jeans - faded jeans, low rise, SKINNY, medium flare, HIGH flare, dark jeans are getting oh so popular

Tops - tunics, camis, tees and shirts that stick really close to your body, long long sweaters and tees, floral tops, tank tops, tube tops, spaghetti straps, polos

Skirts - MINI SKIRTS, jean skirts, knee length floral skirts, skirts with bold patterns

Jewelry would include chunky styles and eleagant styles. Try pearls, beads and boho sheek looks like cork. Also stick to nice, neutral shades.

Outfits - jeans never go wrong but never wear the same pair twice in a row. Pair with tunics, tees for summer and add flats, heels or sandels that sort of contrast with the color of the tee to add depth. The texture of your stuff is very important. That's why things like velvet, satin, silk and tweed is SO popular. It adds dimension to the outfit. Tights are all the rage now. Try pairing leggings or tights with a jean skirt and add some cute cowboy boots and orange or yellow floral top or even something casual like a long close fitting tee. Definitely go for things like bubble skirts with tights, patterned leggings. Layer tanks and pair them with some nice shorts. Plaid or other patterned shorts are best. Plaid is sooo in. Try plaid shorts for an awesome look.

You know, my preppy teen girls closet is so doggone scary that I don't even know what the stuff is in there. the pile in literally waist high and it smells BAD in there. I see her wearing a lot of Hollister stuff. She says Ab/Fitch is OUT. Pac Sun stuff is good. Forever 21. Dots. Less is more whatever it is. And please be sure to wear deodorant. Your mom will be proud.

they last foreverrr, i'm in 9th grade, and i've had them since 7th. people say its gross to have sandals that long, but thats what theyre made for, to last forever. and if the sandal falls apart, mail it back to them and get a new one for free!
and most hollister tees are fine.

for everything else, i go to H&M.
theyre are limited stores around the world..if you can find one near you, that would be great because its good quality and very cheap.
