I'm a bull in a china shop, I'm a kid in a candy store, I'm a tired old metaphore for everything you can't afford and everything you can't afford to be. I can't hear a thing 'cause I stopped listening!

Be the change you want to see in the world.
by Mahatma Gandhi

It's all too easy to point out reasons for why someone else is making the world a bad place but people rarely step outside of themselves to actually examine their own actions because you may be guilty of the same behavior you disapprove of.

I collect quotes so I've got a ton of them but I'll stop with this one.

"Give a man a fish and he'll eat for today. Teach him how to fish and he'll eat for a lifetime". -Abe Lincoln

I firmly believe in education, both formal schooling and living life schooling. We should never stop being students of the earth. I try to pass along something informative, meaningful and valuable daily. Basically, I was born into this world a teacher (taught in the public school system for years).

"This is not about charity, this is about justice" (Bono talking about world poverty) and (Bono again) "where you live should not decide whether you live or whether you die" - why? Because I totally agree with both quotes, and I'm passionate about fighting against extreme poverty, and a large part of my life goes towards that goal. That is probably the thing I am most passionate about, and extreme poverty is the thing that I am most angry about I think.

I hate to advocate drugs, alcohol, violence, or insanity to anyone, but they've always worked for me.
- Hunter S. Thompson

I just love it. It combines a warning with maladaptive ways of coping that I sometimes use.

Also a song quote:
I try to discover
A little something to make me sweeter
- from A Little Respect by Erasure.

It's way out of context the way I see it, but it's my dream. Prozac helps.

When you're down and out and it seems like it just can't get any worse, don't despair. Things can always get shittier. Next thing you know you'll wake up in rural Kentucky in someone's bathtub missing both you arms.

"A is A." This is a quote from John Galt in Atlas: Shrugged by Ayn Rand. It means that everything has a form and function to which it belongs and of which it can not deny.

Mine is from a song by Pink called Don't let me get me and it's kind of long.

"Everyday I fight a war against the mirror
I can't take the person starin' back at me
I'm a hazard to myself

Don't let me get me
I'm my own worst enemy
Its bad when you annoy yourself
So irritating
Don't wanna be my friend no more
I wanna be somebody else

Doctor, doctor won't you please prescribe
somethin
A day in the life of someone else? "

The heart has eyes which the brain knows nothing of. I don't know who it's by, but I always seem to fall for the guys that aren't logically good choices. :)
