Not 'Country' but 'Countries'. Allies - USSR, USA, UK, France & (Nationalist) China - won the War. For their labours they were given the highest position in the newly created UN, as (irreplaceable) Permanent members of the Security Council to oversee the Global Peace. But it doesn't mean that all other countries were bystanders watching a road-show. On the Axis side were Germany, Italy, Japan & some more European countries like Romania & got defeated. Except the Latin American countries, many more other countries by virtue of being colonies of these European Powers (UK, Denmark, France, The Netherlands, Belgium, Italy) were involved in the War on the Allied side, by default. For instance the British were straining to raise an Indian Army of a few million fighting men, while their Dominions Australia, Canada, new Zealand & South Africa fought on equal footing. Amongst the Nations most men who fought & killed were the Soviets (of USSR) on Allied side, the Germans on the Axis side (adversaries) & Indians (India wasn't independent then) on Allied side - in that order.
