i heard this song on VH1 on a program called 40 most softsational rock songs...it was about the singer falling in love with his best friend, but he didn't know how to tell her or something....and now i can't figure out what the song was....does anyone know? please help me

first song that came to mind is "shees my best frinds girl" by the dors (i think its the dors) but im not shure sounds familiar though
