Hey, i've recently been looking at Eye Sheilds for my football helmet, especially the mirrored Under Armour Kind. My question is, do you need a special reason to wear one, or can you wear one if you want to? Do you need special permission from your high school football board to wear one or what?

check with your coach before you buy one, I wore one in College. (a mirrored one) I loved it. I played O-line and it was an advantage for me to be able to look at my assignment without tipping of the defensive player.

It depends on your league, ask the coach on rules regarding visors. But the unwritten rule in high school is that if you are going to wear a visor you better be the sh*t, or else everyone is going to make fun of you. So keep that in mind. The reason for wearing one: look cool, keep fingers out of your eyes, keep sun out of your eyes, and with correctional sheilds make up for bad eyesight.

Whether or not you can wear one and what kind you can wear depends on where you live. In Georgia you can't wear anything except clear visors. And, no, they don't fog up unless you get a crappy one. Oakley and Under Armour visors don't. Your coach may have a problem with it, though, so ask him first.

My Advice To You Is Not To Wear One Because If It Rains It Gets To A Point Where You Cant See And It Gets Muddy And Foggy. When Its Not Raining Your Sweat Gets On To It And Drips So You Cant See

The majority of high school districts across the US will not allow them, a few do. Why wear them? They are pointless and senseless or do just want to look cool? Just play the game and forget about all of the crap (i.e. visors, gloves, etc.)

The best thing to do is to ask your coach. Some people wear it for medical reasons and some wear it for style. It all depends on your league.

You can wear one, but it has to be clear, if you want a black one, it must be prescription. You really don't want one though, it fogs up all the time, and when you go to wipe it off, you will get hand marks on the visor itself.

High schools have a governing body. You would have to check with your local area to see what is prohibited.
