I am older than you and have learned to wear what I want to if it looks OK. How do you think you look and how does it make you feel? If you like it wear it. However, I think it is wrong for an older lady to try to look like a teen. So if it make you look like you are trying to be 16, don't wear it.
You may want to ask a friend or another female to get a different opinion. Try it on and see what they think.
I'm not sure what you mean by straps on them...on the leggies or on the dress? If the dress has spaghetti straps and you don't like that you can always wear a tank top, or tee shirt underneath. If you mean the leggies have straps, then don't wear them.

The problem with asking a question like that on here is that they end up being answered by kids! The only answer is.......If you have the figure for leggins go for it! There is nothing that says you have to be 14 to wear them,but they look much better on tall and/or thin women than they do on rounder women! It is really not the type of clothing you wear but the fact that it is right for your body.
Poo-poo the children that think moms have to be frumpy, or dull!! lol

I really believe that people of that age group need to stop being part of the hype and realize that they are not twenty any more and are mothers and grandmothers, not hot young teens and do accordingly.

I agree with your son. A 42 year old woman should not be wearing this kind of clothing. More traditional, loose fitting clothing would be better.

if that outfit doesn't make you look absolutely fabulous then don't wear it. only wear clothes that make you look your absolute best. if you look at yourself and say nah i'm not so sure about this or ooh look at my back fat or geez i have more wrinkles around my knees than i thought or dang my butt sure is flatter nowadays or crapola my triceps are still flappin from 10 minutes ago.... then nah wear something else. :-)

wear something appropriate for your age! Think how other people will think about you wearing a 14 year old's clothing.
