Skylar? For a girl? Is it getting too popular? Or is it unique?

Skylar can be a boy or a girl but mostly girls. Here are the stats for the name. It's not too common but it's not unique. Last year it was #145 in the US.

It's pretty popular now, and I'm not too fond of it, because it sounds a little too masculine to be considered a girls name. Skye is a more feminine and unique version of Skylar for a girl.

I think Skylar is a good girl name. I don't think it is too popular i think it is unique for a girl.

Skylar is a unique name, but she is not the only one. When you call your baby Skylar, do you really like the way it sounds? Go with your gut feeling.

I've only known one person with that name but it was spelled Skyler and it was a male. I love the name. For a girl I would try Skyla as opposed to Skylar.

I work at a daycare and I can tell you that Skylar-Skyler is VERY common now. I've worked there for 6 years and at least 10 children I've watched has had that name...both boys and girls.

Skylar is the boy version... the girl version is Skyler. I've only known one girl with the name Skyler.
