Definitely. When someone suffers a serious addiction they aren't going to get over it until they've hit rock bottom. Rock bottom means experiencing the low of all lows, total scum. And when you've been there, it scares the hell out of you and gives you more incentive to change.

Ohh yes I do believe that I still am at rock bottom in so many ways. It is so hard to lift yourself from the depths of much here. Sad isnt it? Yes well even the best fall down sometimes. Not my kind of music but that is one beautiful song and it has such a strong message there.

I believe that really is the case. Some people just don't get it, and they need to experience the absolute worst before they realize they need to turn their lives around. And if that is the case, when they finally do pick themselves up - they can look back at where they came from, and know that they don't ever want to go back there again.

No... there are some people who have this amazing ability to pull it together no matter what.... actually, I am one of those people. I could be drowning in a pool of dogcrap, with a weight tied to my ankle... and i'll swim to the top... I just have that attitude.
That said, I go out of my way to help those who have hit or who are near rock bottom...and try to help them find their way...
it's just what I do...

I know that has been true for me, but some make it half way down and are able to pull themselves back up before they hit the ground.
