Or are they just doing and saying anything they can to get a few more votes?

Do I believe them?

Not't all, I am afraid.

Billary claims to be Baptist, but there is not a church in New York that claims to have seen either Bill or his wife in their congregation since moving there after Hillary got the Senate seat.

Who cares about religion? What ever happened to the separation of church and state? If you really want to get on the subject, yes, Democratic Candidates probably exercises the principles of the Holy Bible more than Republicans. If Jesus was political he would be a liberal. He said, "Blessed are the meek for they will inherit the earth, and Blessed are the peacemakers for they will be called children of God." Republicans damn sure don't give a rats **** about the poor and being that America went to war in Iraq (a war that Republicans somehow still support despite the clear evidence of misleading) we can empirically conclude that Republicans don't want peace. Dude, I am a secular (damn near communist) ultra-liberal. I don't practice religion, yet I have read both the Holy Bible and the Holy Q'ran ear to ear and practice their principles. Republicans don't worship God. They worship the Almighty Dollar. Republicans are self-righteous, indignant hypocrites who want you to believe that they are religious to get your vote. They crawl on their bellies.

Even though I'm religious myself, and I do care whether these candidates have some core beliefs, I tend to ignore their religious proclamations as candidates, because I know that it's one of the easiest things to fake, and I know they are highly motivated to do so.

It's great if it turns out to be real, but sometimes the "real believers" are the ones who don't wear it on their sleeve. I'd have a lot of respect for someone who doesn't use their faith as a political tool, but instead uses it as a strength to build their lives around.

What a candidate's religion is or what he/she believes in is his/her own business, but I for one hope that no Democratic candidate claims to be religious in the same sense as some right wing conservative Republicans.

Yes, I believe they are religious.
When they've clearly grown up in a religious household, and demonstrably attended church for years, it's psychotic to say that it's "for a few votes". It is what it is....they're religious.
However, I'd need to hear what they stand for before I'd say whether or not I'd vote for them.

What's your proof that they're not and what's your proof that the republicans are? Any candidate of any party can say anything they want about their religious convictions. There's no way to prove them right or wrong.

Of course theyre out whoring for votes. Thats all they do. Clinton is the worst, but the others arent far behind.

Only two of them have the guts to stand for what they believe in and only one has the balls to tell the entire truth and not try to whore votes, former Senator Mike Gravel.

The neo-cons perfected suckering the faithful. The Democrats were stupid in the past and focused on real issues and lost. They can't let the Republi-nuts monopolize the lying.

About as much as when Bill Clinton 3892387 and later Kerry stated they were pro-gun owners.
