I keep getting extreme answers from either ultra patriots who get mad because I dare question America or radical left conspiracy theories. Does anyone have a well informed answer.

I know that Noriega was a bad guy, but I also know that something kinda stinky was going on between the U.S. government (Drugs, Cartel, CIA) and him before we ousted him

WEll this is the Deal..Noriega was doing bad things..but he was also a part of the CIA..he knew and knows all the people involved in drug traffic, people that, how do I say this, people that shouldnt be doing this...He got out of control, they wanted him silent so, they got him, For two reasons to shout his mouth and also cause he was messing up the Country...Now..Listen...He knew that if he tried to open his mouth, then he was dead...You know how CIA goes. you talk/you dead..Anyways, While hidding he thought, I dont have anyway out, I either let them get me and shout my mouth and make a deal, or Im dead..So he gave up, and he was taken into US custody...The agreement was a few years in jail, with all the confort he could be allowed to have (tV, phone, fax among other things) and he would stay with his mouth shout...Noriega is a son of a Gun...He screwed up the Country...But behind him there is a line of people that are screwing up other countries....
I hope this clears your ideas...

Strong evidence came to light that he was on the take from the drug cartels. When his rule was contested and the new Panamanian government asked for assistance, the USA did so (even if that was on shaky grounds). It’s nothing new. The legal government of France in 1941 was that of the Vichy French but, and for good reasons, the USA refused to recognize them and supported another government that was self appointed in Great Britain.

the whole drugs/cia link has never been proven, despite what liberals say. Many liberals believe that the CIA was selling dope to help finance revolutions in latin america. interesting theory, yet little to no proof of this actually happening. talk to people from panama...even they are happy he is in a miami prison.
