I'm both athletic and educated. I think it is important to feed your body and soul. How can you ever reach peace without understanding empathy and how can learn empathy without learning about history and life? It takes wisdom, but education takes you their faster. Also, everything can be taken away from you except your essence of being. If that essence includes education, you can continue to evolve. For example, my family comes from a long lineage of very educated and very wealthy people, but after World War II everything was stripped away from them and they were put into Siberian work camps (no, not jewish). Having escaped and come to America, my family was very poor but kept reading and pushing the importance of education. I am not rich, but I live a fulfilling life and know how to take care of my children and myself despite adversities. Many people don't know how to do these things. That is how "Knowledge is power." Being strong is also important. Not allowing the body to be destroyed by chemicals and drugs as well as keeping it in shape is important. I know I am a little depressed right now about having broke my foot, but it's healing quickly and I know I will be up and about and on my bike and swimming in no time. I want my doctorate in sociology someday. Oh, yeah, and I'm not ugly either. Some don't see that, but because I take care of myself, I am beautiful inside and out, emotionally and physically. I teach that to my children and thousands of other children as well. Learn and be strong.

this is a huge debate that could go on forever and there really is no right or wrong answer. some people are born at a higher intelectual status then others (especcialy people who are mentally handicapped) same could go for physical strength. some people are born stronger than others. usually if you are not very strong then you are smater or if you aren't too bright then you are probably stronger physically. i am not sure how true this is but by a day to day life that i live it seems to alswya be this way. i think people find intellect more superior then strength because with intellect you can better improve the enviroment, economy, or anything else. rather thatn if you are strong and can just hit a baseball really far and be in a moment of glory for a few years. i hope that that answered your question.

Well, knowledge allows somebody to grow in life and people with knowledge are able to choose from a wide variety of jobs, i guess... I don't think society finds people with knowledge superior or anything, but they may look up to them for answers. I totally agree with the saying, Knowledge is power, because you can still become successfull and not be book smart... Actually, we do credit the physically strong because they are the only people that can become athletes and sometimes make more money than doctors.... Hope that helps.

I truly think intellectual is a result of an analytical mind which is natural and not of effort.
Physical superiority can be of effort or also natural.
The diff is the intellectual motivate the world along in concepts and discovery for better or worse. Physical move the world along also, the worker bee hand crafting the world designed by the intellectual.
We wonder how the pyramids were built-we may be able to envision design by one individual but built with group effort. As soon as we know the mystery how the group effort built them, we'd be left with awe for the designer.

In this day and age, it is the people who have the knowledge that are more successful. It used to be that people with physical strength were the most successful.
In my opinion, an intellectual may be intellectually superior, but cannot be described as totally superior.

I think that knowledge is just a by product of a love of learning. I love to read books and talk to people because of how much I learn when I do. The point is not to be intellectual, but to enjoy the acquisition of knowledge. So much of our interactions with other people are based on conversation, it's rewarding to speak with people who have something interesting to say. Try hanging out with a group of physically strong men who have little intelligence and see how long they can hold your interest.

To me, knowledge is a gain because with out knowledge we would be living like animals.we would not have the knowledge to do are create anything are to protect ourselves from vast sicknesses ,there would properly be more teen pregnancy ,crime would properly increase.without knowledge we would be a strain in the community .there would be more deaths and less man made productivity such as the computer, t.v, phones, planes ,radios an much more.
it could also be a sin .in the beginning we had no knowledge. but God took care of us an said that no one must eat of the tree of knowledge. but eve broke the commandment when she was tempted by the serpent according to the bible .now as our punishment our ancestors Adam an Eve were made to worked harder. before there were no sickness and no competition for jobs. God provided everything

Uh, knowledge IS power, and it equals money too. Without knowledge, people will walk all over you, no matter how strong you are. In our society, people typically get paid for what they know and how they can apply it. Few artists and athletes are the exceptions. How the heck do you even think you'd be posting this question without smart people to invent computers?
Might I ask you, why is art important?

Knowledge...
It is what you know and how you know it! People like to find intellectual people more superior becausethey rise above others and show what they know to the world! It is because they know what they learn! The people who ask the most questions are usually smart. Everyone gets credit for what they know! You will get credit for physical strength becasue that is what you know! For instance I know many things like how to play sports and I will get credit for knowing that! Everyone has something that they get credit for and what they do influences that!
You should work for what you know and not for what you do! You show your knowledge that way!

Knowledge advances society over the long term. It allows us to improve the quality of life. We can take the knowledge of others, add our own knowledge and make improvements that are beneficial to EVERYONE, not just the people who used their knowledge to create those improvements. One of the greatest advances of our time is spell check and proper grammar. No one is intellectually superior without it.
